Kenneth “Barney” Allen Spitler, age 77, of West Milton passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Village Green Health Campus in Greenville, surrounded by his family. He was born May 10, 1944 to the late Roscoe Cleon & Irene Bell (Marker) Spitler in Dayton, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald Spitler. He will be missed and remembered by his loving children Kelly (Jerry) Dunlevy of Bradford, and Kraig (Cathy) Spitler of Laura; grandchildren Madison (Kyle) Siefker of Bluffton, Bailey (Wes) Martin of Middleburg, VA, Molly Dunlevy of Bradford, Justin (Lisa) Spitler of Somerville, Mallory Dunlevy of Bradford, and Mia Dunlevy of Bradford; great grandchildren Carter Richard, Cash Richard, Hudson Martin and one baby great granddaughter on the way; siblings Bob (Mary) Spitler of Ithaca, Bruce (Janet) Spitler of Jacksonville, FL, and Marleica (Bill) Smart of Supply, NC. Barney was raised on a farm in Laura, OH and served in the Ohio Army National Guard. He also loved receiving phone calls and visits from his six grandchildren and always looked up to his older brothers and picking on his little sister with no mercy. He spent lots of time making memories with special friends and neighbors and accomplished his life long dream by spending three summers in Alaska where he got to hunt big game. Barney loved hunting, fishing, turtle trapping, mushroom hunting, cutting wood and corvettes. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton with a celebration of life beginning at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Blood Center by donation or donating blood in Kenneth’s memory who was an avid donor or Potsdam Church of the Brethren.
