L. Maxine Shellenberger, 88, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Koester Pavilion, Troy. She was born August 4, 1927, in Pleasant Hill, to the late Harold and Lova (Jay) Lowry. She married George Junior Shellenberger on April 26, 1947; he preceded her in death on December 31, 2005.

Maxine will be missed and remembered by her daughters, Jean (Michael) Boehringer of Bradford and Lora (Stephen) Favorite of Pleasant Hill; grandson Michael “Del” (Jan) Boehringer; and great-grandson Michael “Levi” (Jessica) Boehringer. She was preceded in death by sisters Helen Pickering, Dorothy Kinnison, Margaret Netzley, Phyllis Short, Mary Sweitzer, and Norma “Deanie” Hall; and brothers Lloyd and Lowell Lowry.

Max was a 1945 graduate of Newton High School and a lifelong homemaker.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 10, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St., Pleasant Hill. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Court at Koester Pavilion, 3232 N. C.R. 25-A, Troy, OH 45373.
