Larry Crowell Obituary

Larry Gene Crowell, age 80, of Englewood, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021. He was born June 1, 1941 to the late Kenneth & Mildred (Brower) Crowell. He is preceded in death by his parents and loving wife Ruth Ann (Ganger). He will be missed and remembered by his loving children Jeffrey Allan (Brook) Crowell of Miamisburg, Ohio and Janelle Arlene (Geoffrey) Crowell-Dawson of Bloomfield Hills, MI; grandchildren Jeffrey Crowell, Reed, Rowan, Pippa Dawson, Rainey, Myron, Zane Wullenweber; siblings Howard (Joanne) Crowell, Karen (Charles) Kirk, Monita (Paul) Eversole, Rhonda (John) Lee, brother-in-law Dale Ganger (Barbara) and many, many nieces and nephews.

Larry was a proud graduate of Jefferson High School. After high school he attended General Motors Institute earning a BS in Engineering, Cornell University earning a Masters in Engineering and finally attending Chase School of Law to earn his Juris Doctorate. After many years at General Motors Larry began his law practice in Englewood and continued helping clients until his death. Larry and Ruth Ann answered a call to service and joined the Peace Corps in the late 1960s. They spent two years serving in India where Larry helped farmers learn modern farming and Ruth Ann taught English to children in the village. After their tour in India they spent months traveling the world which began a lifelong love of travel and visiting other countries. He loved cruising the world with his wife Ruth Ann, eating heartily, boating and jet skiing at their home on Dale Hollow Lake, zip lining around the world and playing Euchre and Pinochle late into the nights with family and friends.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Englewood. Arrangements are in care of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, West Milton. Memorial contributions may be made to Adult and Teen Challenge Ohio Valley and/or The Peace Corps. Online memories of Larry may be left for the family at www.hale-sarver.com.
