Larry Sarver Obituary

Larry J. Sarver

Age 79, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at his home surrounded by the love of his family and the peace of familiar surroundings. He was born April 10, 1946, in Piqua, Ohio, to his parents Wilbur Jacob & Opal May (Schauer) Sarver. With a warm demeanor and a heart rich with kindness, Larry Sarver embarked on his final journey, leaving behind a trail of cherished memories.

Larry's journey through life was rich with the love he shared with his beloved wife, Janice E. Sarver (Jay), whom he married on a blissful July 11 in 1981. A Bradford High School graduate of the class of 1964, Larry's drive and dedication paved the way for a remarkable career that extended beyond five decades as an Owner/Operator truck driver. Firm hands on the wheel, he navigated both the literal highways for IML and Manfredi and the winding roads of life with unwavering determination and grace.

Larry cherished moments of fellowship at the Common Ground Christian Church in Bradford (formerly the Bradford Church of the Brethren), where his faith nourished his soul. His laughter reverberated across the fairways as a golfer, and his favorite mornings were often spent at the Train Stop, where his presence was as expected as the sunrise. Larry also found solace in the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. For Larry, life was an endless highway, and he embraced the freedom of the open road whether he was trucking, swinging a golf club, or casting a line. Those who knew Larry will fondly remember a man who personified love, friendliness, and kindness.

Larry will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Janice E. (Jay) Sarver; daughter and son-in-law Tamela Jo Brown & significant other Steve Weaver of Covington; step-children and their spouses Kathryn & Dan Wood of Beavercreek, Cully & Tabitha Canan of Bradford, Jonathan & Carmen Canan of Anna; grandchildren Luke (Jess) Wood, Katy Wood, Rachel (Rayan) Paulus, Nick (Sarah) Canan, Hayden Davidson, Drew Canan, Parker Davidson, Chris Vogler, Iris, Canan, Willow Canan, Ren Canan, Nova Canan, Andy (Brooke) Vogler, Wesley Vogler; 6 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Donieca Sarver of Gahanna; numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary Sarver.
