Lois Jean (Earhart) Kincaid, age 88, of Fairbanks, AK, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at the Denali Center in Fairbanks, AK. She was born September 24, 1936 to Franklin Lawrence & Lillie Madeline (Beeson) Earhart in Troy, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence Ed Kincaid; stepson Rodney Alan Kincaid; sister Janet Gustin; brothers in-law Phil Gustin and George Stoops.
She will be missed and remembered by her fiancé Holland Butler; children Ted (Karen) Steinman of Tulsa, OK; Ronald (Michele) Steinman of Oak Harbor OH, grandchildren Jodi (Peter) Cole, Kevin (Emily) Steinman, great grandchildren Samuel and Piper Cole, Nathan and Cody Steinman; stepchildren Terry (Judith) Kincaid of Celina, TX, John Kincaid of Farmington, MO, Randall (Karen) Kincaid of Temperance, MI, Lynann (George) Cunningham of Dickinson, TX, Deborah (John) Wood of Deer Park, TX; foster daughter Debra (Greg) Smith of Holly MI; numerous step and foster grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings Lawrence “Larry” (Athena) Earhart of Creve Coeur, MO and Loraine Stoops of Oak Park Heights, MN as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many, many friends who will miss her dearly.
Lois was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fairbanks, AK where she was an usher and on the prayer chain. She was also a valued attendee of Holland’s church, Friendship Baptist Mission. Lois was a case worker and on the board of directors for Love Inc. She was a member of the Fairbanks Host Lions where she received the “Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for Humanitarianism”, was on the board of directors and the budget committee. Lois was a member of Pioneer Women of Alaska Igloo #8 where she was active as a Chaplin and volunteered at Meals on Wheels. She also was a member of North Star Council on Aging and the Quilts of Valor. In May 2016 Lois was given a proclamation of Outstanding Senior Volunteer by the mayors of the Fairbanks North Star Borough, City of Fairbanks, and the city of North Pole AK. All these activities kept her young at heart. She often said her life has been blessed by her Faith, her Family, and her Friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Interment will follow in Wheelock Cemetery, West Milton.
