Lon Music

Lon Music, age 69, of West Milton, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born November 27, 1953 to Charles Music & Emily (Preston) Sparks in Paintsville, Kentucky.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Joyce Music. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Marilyn (Longley) Music of 35 years; daughters Staci (Mike) Harmon of Englewood, Sarah (David) Hoffman of Cincinnati; step children Ron Pullins of Phoenix, AZ and Eric Pullins of West Milton; grandson Jacob Hoffman of Cincinnati; step grandchildren Josilynn Pullins of West Milton, Kellen, Adelyn Hoffman of Cincinnati; sister Ruth of Columbus; brother Mike of Dayton; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, sister in laws and brother in laws.

Lon served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, active duty as an aircraft maintenance specialist at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. He then served as an active reservist at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in the 906th Tactical Fighter Group and 445th Air Lift Wing as aircraft maintenance. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 2014 and from the Federal Civilian as a civil engineer in December of 2021. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 6557 in Pleasant Hill, AMVETS Post 66 in Covington and a member of the American Legion Post 707 in Englewood.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St, Dayton, OH 45428. Following the services, the VFW Post 5434 in Union will be preparing a luncheon for anyone who would like to attend, 116 N. Main St, Union, OH 45322. Arrangements are in care of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, West Milton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton VA Medical Center.
