Mahlon “Shorty” M. Jester, age 95, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Hospice of Miami County. He was born September 2, 1927 to Floyd M. Jester & Helen Ruth (Brown) Sager in Kessler Station, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Rosella L. (Pearson) Jester in 2015 and son Timothy Jester.
He will be missed and remembered by his loving daughter Sue (Toby) Baker of Union and grandson James Dalton (Janya) Hughes; step grandchildren Toby Baker Jr, Stephanie Sult, and Ashley Baker; 6 step great grandchildren.
Shorty attended Pleasant Hill Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith and served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II. He also was a high school volleyball, basketball, and soccer referee for 40 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Burial will follow in Curtis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Monday, February 20 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.
