Margaret Strozensky Obituary

Margaret Ann (Erpelding) Strozensky – Date of death– 2/18/2025

Born – 1/29/1939 in  Waterloo, Iowa during a heavy winter storm.

Proud parents were Ethel (Rigdon) and William Erpelding. She was welcomed home by big brother Wendell, later to be joined by two younger brothers, Douglas, Bruce, and a little red-headed sister, Mary.

Margaret grew up, graduated high school, leaving Iowa behind. She attended Dana College in Blair Nebraska, earning her bachelor’s degree in education. That is where she met and fell in love with Milo. They were married June 5, 1960, in Buchanon County, Iowa.  Before his passing in 2020, they had been married for 60 years! Their lives together gave them two children, Mark and Michelle (Mason), and took them from Lakeville/McZena, to Sidney, to Newport, to West Milton.

Milo was a devoted Lutheran Pastor to several congregations throughout his life and retired from the Stolle Corporation in Sidney, Ohio. Margaret and Milo operated the Purple Thumb Gift Shop in Newport, Ohio, and years later opened their family business, Marlo Winery. Margaret retired from Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney, Ohio after starting there in 1970.

After retirement, Margaret and Milo purchased a large Winnebago and took to the road to see the sites and visit friends and family! They enjoyed their travels but were always glad to return home. They were members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Milton where Margaret was proud to lead the Senior Shepherd group for eight years, from 2012 – 2020.

Margaret and Milo’s family expanded – Michelle married Robert and Mark married Connie. Combined they blessed them with eight grandchildren: David Mason, Jonathan Mason (Laura), Jacob Mason (Tara), Becca Mason, Eric Strozensky (Jade), Alexander Strozensky (Jessie), Ryan Strozensky (Elisabeth) and Cody Strozensky. They were further blessed with six great grandchildren: Mariea, Lynnie, Hazel, Henry, Jacey and Grace Mason.

Preceding Margaret in death was her beloved husband Milo Alva Strozensky, parents Ethel and William Erpelding, brother Douglas Erpelding, sister Mary Erpelding, sisters in law Jennie, Neva Mae and Lisa Erpelding, nephew Warren Erpelding, nieces Connie Soppe and Rachel Erpelding, brother in law Ernest Strozensky, and in laws Arvella and Alva Strozensky.
