Martyne C. Henderson
Age 94, of Vandalia, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born January 24, 1929, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to her parents Dow & Hazel (Beach) Hail. Martyne graduated from Washington High School in Indiana and was a long time, active member of the Polk Grove United Church of Christ where she was a member of the choir and featured soloist. She loved the arts, playing her piano and her schnauzers.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Gilbert Henderson; sisters Melba Figg and Joanne Hutton; brothers James Hail and Lee Hail.
She will be missed and remembered by her sons Robert (Linda) Jones of Centerville; Stephen (Charlene) Henderson of Gulfport, Florida; grandchildren Amy Ulrich, Alissa Hamilton, Casey Henderson and Alex Henderson; 6 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; special life long friends Roger and Robert Bailey of Vandalia; and her beloved cat, Gracie.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 29, at Polk Grove United Church of Christ, 9190 Frederick Pike, Dayton, OH 45414, with interment following at Polk Grove Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Polk Grove United Church of Christ.
