Matthew "Matt" S. Hamilton

Matthew “Matt” Steven Hamilton, age 48, of Columbus, passed away due to unexpected natural causes on Monday, June 5, 2023. He was born October 7, 1974 to Denise L. (Slaven) Garland and Larry Hamilton in Troy, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his step dad Jim Garland. He will be missed and remembered by his mother Denise Garland; step son and amazing friend Marco Silva; precious niece Autumn Brock; siblings Stefanie R. Brock (Jason) Swabb, Todd (Carol) Garland, Kenny (Karen) Garland.

Matt was a 1993 Franklin Monroe High School graduate then graduated from Ohio State University in 2000. He was the director of operations of Wheels Up. Matt was a member of Orange Theory Fitness, serving at the Helping Hands Homeless Shelter, and loved anything Ohio State especially every time they play TTUN.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM- 12 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Pleasant View Missionary Church, 5231 Gettysburg-Pitsburg Rd, Greenville, OH 45331 with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM with Pastor Sean Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. In honor of Matt, the family has requested that everyone attending wear OSU attire. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Homeless Shelter, 7453 E. Main St, Reynoldsburg, OH.
