Michael E Detrick began his new journey December 21, 2021. At the age of 60 he lost his short battle with gallbladder cancer. He was raised in Bradford Ohio, son of Clifford Detrick & Gertrude (Detrick) Schneeberger. Both deceased. Mike was a hard worker and started at a young age doing farm work and odd jobs. In 1980 his career began pumping gas and washing windshields for the Bonded Oil Company. He took great pride in his work life of 41 years and officially retired from Speedway gas station as a Maintenance Technician in May 2021. His high school sweetheart Fern Detrick will forever miss him as will his children Heather (Allen-(Dec.)) Blauvelt, Benjamin Detrick, Lesley (Jay) Coughlin. Also left with broken hearts are: sister and brother (in law) Tammy & Terry Schneeberger, nephew Jason Schneeberger. Niece Shannon preceded him in death. The garage was his paradise where he spent every spare second “working” on projects and enjoying time with his extended family of brothers, Phil Ouellette, Robert Simon, Joe Harris, Randy Spurgeon, Shaun Duffy, and garage son Dustin Rue, along with numerous others. Mike welcomed spending time with everyone who stopped to share a laugh or a problem. Mike cared about people and would not want a gathering due to his passing to cause harm to anyone. Celebration of Mike’s life will be held near his birthday in July. The family appreciates all the love and support we have received. In lieu of flowers or gifts Mike asked that everyone make memories with those they care about and take lots of pictures. Sharing love and memories is the best gift you can ever give or leave behind.
