Nelson L. Dohm
Of Troy, passed Friday, January 26, 2018, at Miami Valley Hospital. Nelson was born to the late Nelson & Hazel (Collett) Dohm. He graduated from Troy High School class of 1953 and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a professional photographer in Troy for over 25 years. He owned and managed Dohms Portrait Studio and retired from PMI in the photographic department. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Troy where he was a deacon for 25 years. He was a member of Gideon’s International of which he served as president for 2 years. He was also a member of the WBCCI (Wally Byam Caravan Club International- Miami Valley of Ohio Unit), and was a member of the Motor Coach Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Lora A. (Laughman) Dohm and his parents. He will be missed and remembered by his siblings Thelma Archer of Troy, Hazel Studebaker of Troy, Dennis Dohm of Sidney; nieces and nephews Vickie Eisle of New Jersey, Cindia Cyr of Wilmington, Michelle Hershey of Texas, Doug Fitch of Troy, Kathy Huffman of Troy, Denise Burns of Troy, Michael Dohm of Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 2, at the First Baptist Church of Troy, 53 S. Norwich Road, Troy. Pastor Doug Magin will officiate with interment following at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. The family will receive from 11:00-1:00 PM Friday at the church. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Gideon’s International, P O Box 1174, Piqua, Ohio, 45356.
