Patricia (Spitler) Grim

Patricia (Pat) Grim passed away peacefully on June 28, in West Milton, after a lengthy illness. Pat was born in Montgomery County on December 27, 1935, to the late Orville and Lillian Spitler. She was proceeded in death by her siblings: James Campbell, Mary Jane Campbell, Orville Spitler Jr., and Donna (Spitler) Tammeveski. 

Pat was a 1955 graduate of Milton Union High School.  She married Stanley (Sam) Grim on July 2, 1960, at the Brethren Church in West Milton.  Sam and Pat spent the last 66 years building their home here in West Milton where they raised their two children, loved spending time with and supporting their six grandchildren in their many activities and life events.  Through the years they enjoyed the fifteen great- grandchildren God brought into their lives never missing a sporting event they were involved in, and had the joy of meeting their first great-great grandchild, celebrating five generations. 

After Pat raised her two children, she began working at Hobart Corporation in Troy and eventually worked for 31 years at Moffatt Insurance in Troy.  She attended Community Church in West Milton for many years and later First Light Church in Vandalia.  Pat was tireless in helping her family, maintained an immaculate home and yard, and was known for cooking every meal for her family and the many friends who came through their front door.  She enjoyed the many family trips to Mackinac Island and Florida, and the endless family gatherings.   

Pat is survived by her husband, Sam; her children, Terri (Mike) Coate, and Sammy Grim, both of West Milton; her grandchildren, Michael (Melanie) Coate, Adam Coate, Brandon (Erin) Coate, Brenna (Nathan) Brooks, Craig (Peggy) Grim, and Rachel Grim. She is also survived by her 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Ohio's Hospice for their compassion and care these past months.  Also, our gratitude to Abbie, Pat's care manager, and Candice who helped with Pat's care these past weeks. 

Although her family will miss her greatly, we are thankful for her profession of faith in Christ Jesus and the promise of eternal life to those who believe in His name.  

Services will be held at the convenience of the family with internment at Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City.
