Patricia “Patti” Sue McCann, age 72, of Sidney, formerly of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Kettering Health Dayton Hospital. She was born September 2, 1951, to Roy Herschel & Ruby Mae (Helmandollar) McCann in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Debra “Debbie” (Jerry) Cress.
She will be missed and remembered by her nieces Jennifer (Matt) Berrey, Elisabeth “Betsy” (Kyle) Courtright, and Alison (Katlin) Clark; nephew Jacob (Joseph) Cress; great nieces and nephews Connor and Katie Berrey; Kinsley, Kip, and Kade Courtright; Lucy, Lyla, and Brix Clark; and Janine Cress; and many long-time friends.
Patti was a 1969 graduate of Riverside High School in DeGraff, Ohio and a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in 1972 and Master of Science in 1975. She worked her entire professional career in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at the Medical College of Ohio as a senior medical research assistant, retiring in 2008. Patti had a jovial personality who loved her family. She enjoyed crafting, spending countless hours quilting, knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching, creating treasures that will be loved for many years to come. She was an Aunt who gave the best, most over-the-top birthday and Christmas gifts. In keeping with Patti’s loving and generous spirit, her final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through tissue donation. Patti was a special person who will be missed by her family and dear friends.
A private celebration of Patti’s life will be held at a later date by her family. Arrangements are in care of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, West Milton. Online memories of Patti may be left for the family at www.hale-sarver.com.
Memorial contributions may be made in Patti’s memory to GIVE Medical Ministry of Covington, Ohio (https://miamicac.org/new/give-medical-ministry/) who generously provided medical equipment and supplies to Patti.
