Pegge Ruth (Green) Stine

Pegge Ruth (Green) Stine, age 87, of Ludlow Falls, OH, passed away peacefully on Friday March 20, 2026, at UVMC in Troy. She was born on January 27, 1939, at Stouder Memorial hospital in Troy to the late Harold Green and Ruth (Fuhr) of West Milton. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Susan Stine Bradley; husband of 62 years, David Stine; older sister Sharon King; and younger brother Charles “Chuck” Green. She will be dearly missed by her children Philip (Teresa) Stine of West Milton, Timothy (Monica) Stine of Laura, and Daniel (Annette) Stine of Pleasant Hill; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren. She attended Hoffman United Methodist church before becoming a member of Dayton Glad Tidings Church of God. Later as one of the originating families starting the Pleasant Hill Church of God, she was very active serving many positions from teaching to her longest role as treasurer for nearly 40 years.

Pegge was a 1957 graduate of Milton-Union High school where she was a cheerleader and met her football star and future husband, David. She earned her Cosmetology Management certificate at Western School of Cosmetology. She would work part time as a hairdresser in West Milton while raising her four children. Later she went to work in the M-U High School cafeteria with her sister-in-law, Jean Stine (decd.) as a cashier. There she spent the next 28 years getting to know many of the MUHS future generation. After retiring she would meet with her former classmates for their monthly “lunch bunch” gatherings to share their stories of the glory days. She loved going out to eat with family on Sundays and dearly loved attending church, always eager to meet and greet all those who entered.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. The family will receive friends from 4:30-6PM on Tuesday, March 31 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Church of God, Box 1, 7540 Cox Rd, Pleasant Hill, OH 45359.
