Peter Dow Obituary

Peter Andrew Dow

Age 72, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in West Milton, Ohio. Born on December 9, 1952, in Melrose, Massachusetts, Peter lived a life marked by dedication, intelligence, and adventure.

Peter graduated from Huntington High School in 1971 and furthered his education when he earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Ohio Wesleyan University. In Delaware, Ohio, on October 18, 1980, he married the love of his life, Kathi Ann (Shaw) Dow. Their marriage was a testament to enduring partnership and mutual respect. The family grew to include a daughter and son-in-law, Emily Neal & Nick Siegler, and a son and daughter-in-law, Alex & Amy Dow. Peter was a cherished grandfather to Mackenzie Neal, Owen Neal, Nolan Dow, and Riley Dow. His warm presence will also be deeply missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Heather & Jerry Morsch, Debbie & Tony Gravanda, and Rosemary & Mick Arcanti, as well as sisters-in-law Jayn Willeford and family and Barb Shaw and family.

Peter's professional life mirrored the excellence he displayed in his personal life. Before his retirement, he was a dedicated purchasing director at Hobart Corp/ITW and proudly served in the United States Air Force. His keen intellect led him to obtain his Customs Broker license, an achievement of which he was particularly proud. Retirement gave Peter the opportunity to pursue his interest in classic cars. He meticulously restored a 1962 Buick Skylark and a 1961 VW Beetle, bringing them back to their former glory.

Peter was adventurous and intelligent, but the word 'analytical' might best capture the essence of a man who approached all aspects of life with a methodical and thoughtful mind, whether it was in his professional endeavors, hobbies, or the careful nurturing of relationships with his loved ones. Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Robert G. Dow and Aileen J. (McKenzie) Crittenden. His legacy is one of strength, love, and dedication to his family and his country.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Peter Andrew Dow will be missed every day, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. His life was a journey of passion and purpose, and he leaves behind a path for all to follow with pride and fondness.
