Phillip Lee Blue
Age 86, of West Milton, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, at his home. He was born August 9, 1938, in La Rue, Ohio, to his parents Wilson Herbert & Winifred (Hoffman) Blue. Phil embarked on a life marked by dedication, passion, and kindness. A proud graduate of La Rue High School, he furthered his education at the General Motors Institute, earning a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and later achieved a master's degree in business administration from the University of Dayton.
Phil retired from General Motors after a fulfilling career spanning over 30 years in materials management. His pursuit of work didn't end with his retirement; he continued to share his expertise and charismatic salesmanship at Arbogast RV and also sold furniture for Ashleys Furniture and Roberts Furniture. His professionalism and analytical mind were hallmarks of his career, and those who worked with Phil remember his dedication and passion.
Outside of his professional life, Phil was an enthusiastic grape grower and winemaker, often hosting friends and colleagues at his beloved vineyard on Wheelock Road. His interests went far beyond viticulture, with a profound dedication to Hoffman Global Methodist Church, where he led the 'Grandma’s Kitchen' ministry with compassion and fervor. His commitment to his community shone brightly through his efforts in starting 'Kid’s Hope' at Hoffman Church for the Milton-Union school system, ensuring that future generations would be touched by his love and care.
He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife of 64 years Sally Joann (Ross) Blue; sons and daughters-in-law Ronald & Jennifer Blue of Medina, Brian & Christine Blue of Springboro, David Blue (fiancé Mindy Silcott) of Erie, Colorado, Danny & Rhonda Blue of Perrysburg; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister Arlene Earhart of Clayton, North Carolina.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 10, at Hoffman Global Methodist Church, 201 S. Main Street, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday at the church. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Hoffman Global Methodist Church.
