Ralph Howard Shroyer

Ralph Howard Shroyer, age 95, of Englewood, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. He was born at home in New Carlisle, Ohio on March 29, 1928 to Earl and Ruth (Roberts) Shroyer. He was in the middle of nine siblings.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Dale (Florence) Shroyer, Lloyd (Twila) Shroyer, Roy (Jane) Shroyer; sisters Helen (Ted) Chapman, Esther (Sam) Hinkle, Clara (Rollin, Harold) Orth-Ochs.

He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife of 70 years, Carol (Warner) Shroyer; children Brett (Shari) Shroyer, Julie (Scott) Penny, Mindy (Dan) Evans, Blake Shroyer, and Mia Richardson (Kirk Urmey); grandchildren Matt (Jen) Evans, Susan (Kyle) Mack, Sarah Shroyer, David (Rachel) Penny, Lindsay (Mark) Lane, Tyler Shroyer, Jeff (Alycia) Penny, Katelyn Evans (Andrew), Michelle Richardson (Kain), Courtney (Sergei) Brubaker, Aaliyah Shroyer, and Melina Shroyer; great grandchildren Hayven, Hadley, Hazelynn Evans, Sydney, Caleb, and Stella Mack, Isaiah, Luke, Benjamin, and Brooklyn Penny; sisters Bertha Parker and Francis Sehorn; sister-in-law Jane Shroyer.

He graduated from Elizabeth High School and was active in many sports, activities & class President.  He was a lifelong member of Salem Church of the Brethren. He was an area Farmer for many years. In 1986, he opened up a radiator repair shop called Shroyer Radiator and ran that until 2012, retiring at age 84. He enjoyed spending his free time with family going fishing, chicken BBQ over a pit, making homemade apple butter in a large copper kettle.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM- 12 PM on Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Salem Church of the Brethren, 6037 Phillipsburg-Union Rd, Englewood, OH 45322 with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM with Pastor Lee Saylor officiating.
