Ramon Holmes
Age 93, of Troy, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. He was born July 13, 1928, in Columbus, Ohio, to his parents Wayne Moore & Anna Katherine (Hathaway) Holmes. Ramon graduated from Columbus West High School class of 1946 and served his country in the the US Navy after high school. Following his military service, he graduated from The Ohio State University in 1956 with his Doctor Degree of Dental Surgery (DDS). On June 6, 1952, he married Lillian Eileen Needs in Columbus, Ohio, and together they shared a life for over 70 years. He worked as a dentist in West Milton for over 30 years until his retirement in 1995.  He was a member of the Troy First United Methodist Church. He was active in the many organizations including the West Milton Rotary Club, Toastmasters, American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Stillwater Leisure Volksmarchers, and was an avid golfer. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Lillian Holmes; children and their spouses Bradley James & Deborah Holmes of Englewood, Beverly Zimmerman of Columbus; grandchildren Ann Zimmerman of Westerville, Daniel Zimmerman of Westerville, Heather Holmes of Greenville, Shannon Greaney of Dayton; sister Donna Meinhart of Delaware, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Michael Ramon Holmes; sister Mary Katherine Cowgill; son-in-law Richard Zimmerman. 
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 3, at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West MIlton. Pastor Chris Heckaman will officiate with interment following at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
