Robert Lewis Mason 1967 – 2025
Robert Lewis Mason, 57, of West Milton, Ohio, was tragically and unexpectedly lost on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He entered the world in Dayton, Ohio in 1967 to Charles and Ruth (Stogdill) Mason.
Bob graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1986 and has fond memories of years of football games and lifelong friendships with other players and coaches. After graduation, Bob attended Bluffton College, where he met his wife Michelle Mason (Strozensky). Bob followed in his grandfather’s footsteps, joining Local 162 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, in Dayton. Bob recently received his thirty-five-year membership certificate from the National Union Association. When work was sparse near home, Bob traveled to work in Wisconsin, and even spent nearly one year employed through Raytheon, working with the National Science Foundation at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. He was always proud to work and support his family. Bob enjoyed any time spent with family. He loved his role as ‘Grandpa Bob’, especially enjoying his eight grandchildren and all of their varied activities, making sure he was their loudest cheerleader! He loved spending time hunting and fishing with his adult kids.
Bob’s unexpected passing comes as a shock to his family, friends, and loved ones, who are still reeling at the loss. He lived a colorful life and still had so much ahead of him. He was taken far too soon. In light of the sudden news, the family asks for privacy as they deal with this tragic situation.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Mason. He is survived by his father, Charles Mason, his devoted wife of nearly 37 years, Michelle, their children David (Victoria), Jonathan (Laura), Jacob (Tara) and Becca Mason, as well as Bob’s best friend and neighbor, Collis Wagner. Grandpa Bob will dearly missed by Hayden, Cruz, Mariea, Lynnie, Hazel, Henry, Jacey, Grace and all future Mason grandbabies! Bob’s faithful furry companion, Sophie will truly be lost without him. Bob is also survived by a host of other relatives.
Any services will be determined at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home. Online memories of Bob may be left for the family at www.hale-sarver.com
