Robert “Bob” D. Martindale, age 72, of Potsdam, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at his home. He was born December 27, 1948 to the late James Emerson & Mary Anne (Jackson) Martindale in Troy, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Rori Anne Martindale. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Lesa R. (Hamner) Martindale of 19 years; son Jason Martindale; stepsons Jim (Krystal) Lemaster and Raymond Hess; 2 grandchildren; siblings James E. Martindale and Melissa (Steve) Pour. Bob was a 1967 Milton-Union High School graduate where he was on the 1966 Milton-Union football championship team and his greatest accomplishment was beating Meadowdale in basketball that had 2 all Americans. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was stationed 4 years in Germany where he played 4 years on the United States Army Basketball Team. Bob loved all sports especially the Ohio State Buckeyes, Columbus Blue Jackets and avid Cleveland Browns fan. He loved camping and fishing at Kiser Lake. Bob carved Santas out of old broomsticks and had a green thumb and could grow anything. A celebration of life will be held from 1-5 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at VFW Post 8211, 7874 St. Rt. 48, Englewood, OH 45322.
