Ruth Phyllis Lou (Manson) Queen, age 95, of West Milton, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 7, 1927 to the late Helen and Jonas Manson in Springfield, Ohio. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Earl, Clarence, and Jim Manson; son David Burton; grandsons Johnny and Dalbert Burton; and great-grandson Brandon Nevels. She will be greatly missed and remembered by her children Jeff (Sandy) Niles of Troy, Helen (Galen) Puterbaugh of Laura, & Matanya (Harold) West of West Milton; grandchildren Kim (Paul) Jacobs of Piqua, Miracle (Doug) Couchet of Findlay, Shawn Freeman of Conover, Brenda (Craig) Pleiman of Tipp City, Linda (Don) Irvin of Piqua, Renee (Brian) Nevels of West Milton, JoCinda (Brad) Johns of Laura, Kelly (Jeff) Lowry of Laura, Scott Niles of Iowa, & Jessica (J.P.) Wheelock of West Milton; 24 great –grandchildren & 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister Janet Newman of Troy; daughter-in-law Robin Burton of Troy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth retired from Springhill Nursery after 29 years. She was an avid reader in her younger years, loved to cook for the entire family every Sunday, attended the UCC church for many years, and loved spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth was the definition of a family woman, and there was nothing more important to her than spending countless hours recalling all of the times of laughter and adventures she endured.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, June 13, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton, with funeral services Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton.
