Shawn Lee Saunders, age 47, of Potsdam, went to be with his Savior on Thursday, September 10, 2026. He was born May 7, 1979 to the late Richard Lee Saunders & Joana Elaine (Delk) Seel in Troy, Ohio.

He will be deeply missed and remembered by his loving wife Miranda Rachel (Kurtz) Saunders of 4 amazing years; son Ethan Lee Saunders of Kenton; siblings Jennifer Saunders (Brian Beaver) of Delaware, OH, Ashley (Doug) Henning of West Milton, Jaime Seel (Trevor Vanwinkle) of St. Paris, Jaclyn Seel of Troy, Richard Saunders II of Piqua and Sheyene Saunders also of Piqua;precious nieces and nephews; close friend Isaak Clevenger; and his faithful dog Rocket Leroy.

Shawn was a lifetime member of the Potsdam Church of the Brethren where he proudly served as a deacon and played guitar for the praise team. He enjoyed playing video games, going fishing, camping, skateboarding, photography, and was a lifelong Bengals fan. Shawn also enjoyed playing the guitar in several local bands where he left a lasting impression. He worked at St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Center for Early Learning where he was lovingly referred to as "Mr. Shawn." Shawn was an old soul who loved Universal Studios monsters, classic cartoons and listening to Billy Graham sermons. He had the most gentle spirit and loved helping others, giving generously, and showing kindness to everyone. His mother-in-law said he was an all-around good guy.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Potsdam Church of the Brethren, 22 E. Cross St, Potsdam, OH 45361 with a funeral service beginning at 7:00 PM.
