Stella Joann Beavers, age 86, of West Milton, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born March 20, 1937 to William Henry & Lillie May (Bryant) Harrison in Tazewell County, Virginia.
She is preceded in death by her parents and six sisters Maxine "Daisy" Christian, Ruth Leffel, Oma Harmon, Linda Rasnake, Juanita Johnson, and Jean Ball.
She will be missed and remembered by her loving husband James Riley Beavers of 68 years; children Karen (Daniel) Stir, Dale (Brenda) Beavers, Wendy (Randy) Hine, Dr. Jill Beavers-Kirby (James); grandchildren Peter (Andrea) Stir, Joshua (Aimee) Stir, Lieutenant Matthew (Amber) Beavers, Alex (Rachel) Hine, Robert Hine, Attorney Samuel (Tracy) Beavers; great grandchildren Paris, Annalynn, Jacob, Emma, Caitlyn, Sophia, and William Stir, Blakely Beavers, Nora Hine, and Riley Beavers.
Joann was a nurse’s assistant for many years spending most of her career at Grace Brethren Village. She was also known for her anonymous contributions to strangers to help them rent a car or to start a new life. She loved to sing especially gospel songs. She would always have music playing in the house and you would often hear her singing along to the radio.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 AM on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton with a funeral service beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Warner Cemetery, Clayton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N. County Road 25A, Troy, OH 45373.
