Age 85, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021. He was born January 10, 1936, in Troy, Ohio, to his parents Thomas Kyle & Beatrice (Thompson) Schatzley. Tom graduated from Newton High School class of 1954 and retired from General Motors as a supervisor. On August 19, 1965, he married Marcia Anna Francis and together they shared a life until her passing in 1996. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Miami County Shrine for over 50 years and was a US Air Force Veteran. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Marcia Ann Schatzley; his parents; sister Frances Long; brothers-in-law Harold Avey, Jr. and Robert Long. He will be missed and remembered by his children and their spouses Amy & John Vance of Troy and Thomas Kyle, III & Kim Schatzley of Englewood; grandchildren Daniel Vance, Matt & Tabby Sloboda, Mattison Vance, Megan Sloboda, Ashley Vance, Lauren Schatzley; sister-in-law Sandra “Sonnie” Avey; numerous niece and nephews.
Private family services will be held. Interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Ohio, 1 Children's Plaza, Dayton, OH 45404. Online memories may be left for the family at www.jackson-sarver.com
