Obituary
Thomas E. Yates, age 86, of Covington, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Stillwater Skilled Nursing and Rehab. He was born January 31, 1937 to the late Emanuel Alfred & Coletta (Myers) Yates in Dayton, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bill and Jim Yates.
He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Sue Carol (Corrello) Yates of 69 years.
Tom served his country proudly in the United States Army 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles Division during the Korean War. Tom worked as a builder alongside his father and brother Jim at Yates Builders building homes in and around West Milton. He loved fishing, wood working, and watching hummingbirds.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM- 1 PM on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
