Treva Jean “Jeannie” (Strawser) Blackmore, age 88, of West Milton, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born April 25, 1936 to Riley & Inez (Morris) Strawser in Union Township, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Clifford J. Blackmore; grandson Lance Ray; sister Ellen Mae (George) Hodgin; son-in-law Richard Drake.
She will be missed and remembered by her children Sherry Drake of Covington, Bonnie (Bradley) Brown of Tipp City, Art (Trudy) Blackmore of Troy, and Pamela Hobbs of Covington; grandchildren Tony (Melisa)Barnes, Wendy Ray; Shawn (Terri) Ray, Heather Ray (Brian Marshall), Brett (Jennifer) Brown, Deanna (Derek) Wise, Allan (Adrian) Blackmore, Brian Blackmore, Jessica (Mike) Tousignaut, Matthew (Kayla) Hobbs; great grandchildren Jacob Barnes (Amanda), Brittany Barnes (Josh), Ashley (Brian), Taylor (Braden) Collier, Hunter Ray (Lexis), Dylan Lucas, Nickolas Zuhl, Cheyenne Zuhl, Steven Ray (Eden), Sarah Ray (John), Chelsea Brown and Reeghan Brown, Archer Blackmore, Anabella Hobbs, Rowan Hobbs, and Finley Hobbs, Jack and Eleanor; great great grandchildren Krailyn, Kyleagh, Braxton, Chase, and Hound; sister Barbara Ann (Fred) Hall; niece and nephews Julie Priest, Scott Hodgin, David and Andrew Hall; great nieces and nephews.
Jeannie was a 1954 Milton-Union High School graduate. She worked for NCR for 20 years then worked and retired from Hobart Corporation after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Potsdam United Methodist Church. Jeannie enjoyed spending the winters in Florida, bowling, and Bingo at Koester. She enjoyed shopping, crafts, oil painting, traveling, church activities, playing cards. She was an outstanding cook and baker.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM-1 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
