Virginia Lee Burroughs

Virginia Lee Burroughs, age 87, of West Milton, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at the home of her daughter surrounded by the family that could be there and in the hearts of the friends and family that couldn’t. She was born December 26, 1937 to James & Dorthea (DeRemer) Jackson in Bedford, Pennsylvania.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard Earl Burroughs; son Dan Burroughs, siblings Nancy Thompson and John Jackson.

She will be missed and remembered by her loving daughters Christi (Nick) Mazzone of Kettering, Lora (Chuck) Johns of West Milton, and Connie Leber (Dave Meyer) of Waynesville; 14 grandchildren; 21 ½ great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sister Janet Schoonover of Mesa, AZ.

Virginia retired from Wilson Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of the Greenview United Church of Christ in Sidney. Virginia also was a member of her Card Club for 69 years. Her family was her main hobby and she attended as many of their activities as she could and made sure to acknowledge birthdays and special events for every one of her big, beautiful family members. She loved gardening, sewing, knitting, and making pickles with her grandson. Her church and bible school were a very big part of her life and she never knew a stranger.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM.
