William H. Broomhall Jr. (Bill) age 92 of Dayton, Ohio passed away on May 7, 2024, at Liberty Place Memory Care in Liberty Township, Ohio. Bill was born on March 29, 1932, to the late William and Adele Broomhall of Detroit, Michigan. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Charlene Broomhall (nee Roberts), he is survived by his two daughters, Barbara Broomhall of Englewood, Ohio, and Rebecca Dunn (Mike) of Liberty Township, Ohio. Bill was a loving grandpa to Matthew (Katie) Dunn of Allen, Texas, Andrew (Bethany) Dunn, and Joel Dunn of Liberty Township, Ohio, as well as four great grandchildren: Rachael, Avery, Sydney, and Jonathan. A dear friend and companion, Nancy Stout, also survives him.
Bill was an Air Force veteran who served most of his time in the Philippines as an airplane mechanic during the Korean War. Following his military time, he was employed and retired from Chrysler Air-Temp in Dayton and General Dynamics in Lima, Ohio.
Bill became a licensed small aircraft pilot and loved flying. A favorite pastime in his later years was to go to an airport and watch planes take off and land. He found great joy in watching his grandsons compete in sports, volunteering for the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, traveling, and clowning as “BB” at the Elder Beerman Thanksgiving dinner and various charity events. Bill was also a lifetime member of several Masonic lodges.
