Winston Klepinger Obituary

Winston  E. Klepinger, 93, of Troy, formerly of West Milton, OH passed away on Friday, January 12 th , 2024. He was born on March 23 rd , 1930 in Dayton, Ohio to the late A. Cleeve and Goldie (Kunkleman) Klepinger. He married Marilyn (Fogle) Klepinger on September 12 th , 1953 in West Milton, OH. She preceded him in death in 2005. Survivors include a son, William “Duke” (Katherine) Klepinger of Tipp City, OH; a daughter, Marie (John) Parry of Troy, OH; a daughter, Kristine (Fred) Snider of Troy, OH; a daughter, Joetta Hensley (Robert, Dec’d) of Troy, OH; a son, Kurt Klepinger of West Milton, OH; a brother Kent Klepinger (Ellen Young) of Ludlow Falls, OH; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother, Robert (Carol) Klepinger, sister, Delores (Clifford) Blackmore, infant sister, Doris Miowne Klepinger, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Sherry (Smith) Klepinger, Marjorie (Howard “Pete”) Kauffman, and Nelson (Donna) Fogle. His father and mother-in-law Ralph and Alice (Bretland) Fogle and several close nieces and a nephew preceded him in death. Winston was a 1948 graduate of Milton Union High School, he was the last surviving male of his graduating class. Corporal Winston E. Klepinger served in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. He has been a member of the Potsdam United Methodist Church since 1938, remaining its longest living member and was active as a board chair for over 45 years. He was active as an FFA member for four years and obtained his State Farmers degree in 1947. Winston was a class officer of his graduating class for four years, serving one year as President. In 1973 he served as the President of the Milton Union Alumni Association. Winston was an active member of the West Milton Lions Club for 46 years, serving as President for two terms between 1966-2012. Winston was also a member of the West Milton Jaycees and served from 1961-1965. Winston and his wife Marilyn enjoyed spending their winters in Florida beginning in 1971. Winston was a custom builder and accomplished carpenter who owned his own business and designed over 200 homes across Miami County. After retirement Winston and Marilyn enjoyed selling real estate through Yates Realty. Winston was an avid supporter of Milton Union Athletics, attending through the last seasons of his life. The one thing that Winston was most proud of was his large family. He was known as Grandpa “Winnie” to many and “Win” to others. Visitation will be Thursday, January 18 th , 2024 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home in West Milton, OH. Services will be Friday, January 19 th , 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Potsdam United Methodist Church in Potsdam, Ohio officiated by nephew Chris Kauffman and Pam Hitchcock. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in West Milton, OH.
