While working in the medical field there can be those special patients that you can develope a special bond. Mr. Betz was one of those special people. I enjoyed seeing and talking with him everytime he came in. He would bring us flowers each time he came into the office from his garden which was so sweet. Our conversation went from flowers, to OSU, to Armco Park. Our friendship grew as my husband & I would see him at the park with his dear friend Evelyn. I took him homemade potato soup and all the fixings to share with Evelyn. (Although I don't think he shared. Ha) and took him cupcakes on his 99th birthday. He told me his goal was to get to 100 and he got so close. I feel very blessed to have had this special man in my life and will miss him dearly.

My sympathies to the Betz family. I met Mr. Betz several years ago while delivering his medication at Otterbein. He was always so friendly and polite. We always talked about his beautiful flowers and his secrets for growing flowers and vegatables and he would always give me tomatoes in the summer...such a sweet man!!
