My heart is saddened by the passing of Tim Elliott.

I met Tim in the 7th grade at E. J. Brown. He became our family's newspaper boy for the Dayton Daily News. We all looked forward to seeing him when it was time to collect for the paper. Tim stayed longer at our house and we probably made him late to see his other customers but we could not help ourselves because we adored him so much! Our family had many great conversations with him on our front porch on Pinehurst Ave. My Dad and Tim loved to talk politics!

We continued our friendship throughout the years at Colonel White High School and I was fortunate to see him at our Class Reunions , the most recent one being our 50th this past summer in June.

Tim was a wonderful guy! You were always greeted by Tim with open arms and he always had that GREAT SMILE on his face. He was very kind, joyful and so full of LIFE. You can not think of Tim Elliott and not feel good!

Our deepest sympathy to his family and may the love of God, your family members and friends comfort you all at this very difficult time.

Tim and I played in bands and were friends for more than 40 years. Letter Carriers, Lyterside, Crawdaddies, Englewood Civic are most memorable. We did some fishing and drank 1 or 3 beers a few times too. I'll always remember his humor, irreverent and otherwise. Condolences to all his friends and family. We played a lot of gigs together and were colleagues at Dayton Band/Brdhouse for 36 years.
He was incredibly dedicated and focused on each student in every one of his lessons.
We'll miss his sense of humor and his fearless political arguments.
We'll will miss a great "duckster".

Tim was the first and most influential person in my life of music. He taught me clarinet when I was a seventh grader some 40 years ago. What a fine musician, teacher, supporter and friend. Love of music. Love of life. These are lessons from Tim I'm prayerful I can share.

Tim Elliott was my clarinet teacher for several years, initially at Dayton Band. I improved immensely under his guidance and looked forward to our weekly lessons. I will never forget his sense of humor, kind heart, and patience. Rest in peace.

Deep sympathy. He came from the first wife (I came from 2nd) of my great-grandfather Walter F. Peterseim Sr. (1883-1944). I did not know him, but am in touch with his 1st's cousins son. I have all the Peterseim/Keiser info (also have his Apple/Brumbaugh/Rhoades/Metzger/Ullery, etc from mothers side), though see was only into the Elliott family, since we all were not close.
My words of sympathy:
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15.
My words of wisdom are: 'Plant A New Tree'

Tim was a rare, wonderfully full-of-life fellow! He was so much fun to play with in the Sinclair Community Band. I will miss him very much, as will hundreds of others who had the good fortune to know him. He brought genuine joy to many with good grace and a fine sense of humor. Godspeed!

Tim was the one who got me started on the Sax and could not understand how I was picking it up so fast with out being able to read music...the second session I pulled out a Harmonia and ripped of one of my favorite riff's Tim said that is nice but you will not pick this sax up so fast and I would learn to read Music. Got to reading Music just not fast enough to play. Tim told me practice, practice, practice. I'm going to get back with it Tim I owe that to you. God's speed my friend. Play it sweet in Heaven. Sure will miss seeing you around.

Jerry and Marty Tucker,
I was your neighbor on Brennersville Prymont in Lewisburg. I graduated with Tim and just got to spend some time with him at our June reunion parties. Tim and I went to school together all 12 grades. He was always a lot of fun, many great memories. Funny how small life's circles are. Love and prayers to your families.

Tim was our paperboy in the early '60's when my family lived on Pinehurst Ave. In Dayton, OH. My whole family looked forward to Tim's visit. He was always smiling and made us smile too. He, my sister Anita and I also attended the old E.J. Brown school and he was in Anita's graduating class from Colonel White H.S. When one thinks of Tim, a smile automatically appears. My thoughts and prayers go out to Tim's family.

I took clarinet lessons from Mr. Elliott at Stivers and Colonel White School of Arts in the 80's. He taught us so much more than the music alone! He had a way of bringing out the best of your ability. He was an amazing teacher. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Tim and I shared a birthday, we shared Kindergarten, we shared homerooms many times in elementary school at the long gone E.J. Brown. We shared cupcakes or other treats with classmates on our shared birthdays.
In high school Tim fully blossomed as a clarinetist extraordinaire. He played in all the bands and orchestra but he ruled the notes in the pep band. I saw him last at his home before the reunion and at the dinner with his cousin Doug "Horse" Hardman.
Too many great musicians have gone this year. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He will be missed by me.

Tim was my first saxophone teacher at Dayton Band. I went in to take flute lessons, didn't like the flute - it was too hard! - and so he demonstrated the clarinet and saxophone for me, and I chose the sax. He was my instructor for a few years, until high school. And then, after high school, I got a degree in music performance, on the saxophone, in college at BGSU. Our BGSU symphonic band came to play for the school he taught at in Englewood, and Tim immediately spotted me and came over to catch up and gave me a big hug. He was such a wonderful man, full of passion and joy for music, and willing to share that with all he met. He inspired me to do better, and cracked down on me when I didn't practice enough. :) He brought a lot of light and joy to this world, and I'm so very sorry for the loss of all who got to know this great guy. He was a joy and I'm so thankful I got to know him and learn from him.

We students from the Dayton Music Magnet program absolutely adored Elliott. He was our private teacher for several years. He introduced me to Blistex and tone studies, and he was always very kind and supportive. He was the cool uncle of the group, and we all loved him.

One of the first people we met when we moved here a few months ago. Absolutely brilliant musician....a sincerely kind and wonderful clarinet teacher for my 12-year old. He was loving, supportive, and his love of music was infectious. He phoned me weekly to talk about Allayna's progress....so very excited how quickly she was progressing. She learned so much with him these last few months.
He truly made an impact on my daughter's life.
May he Rest In Peace---Mr Tim Elliot
