WINEMILLER, David Reis 56 of West Milton, Ohio passed away Thursday January 19, 2017.  David was born on January 7, 1961 to Thomas E. and F. Carolyn (Fiedler) Winemiller in Madison Wisconsin.  He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his much loved, devoted wife of 35 years Denise A. (Shelton) Winemiller and treasured and loving daughter Madeline M. Winemiller, West Milton; Mother F. Carolyn Winemiller, three sisters: Monica R. Winemiller, West Milton, Dr. Laura M. Winemiller and her partner Dr. Tammi R. James, Sacramento, CA and Dr. Carolyn E. Winemiller, Atlanta, GA; Brother-in-law David P. Shelton and wife Melissa, Belington, WV.

David was a 1979 graduate of Milton-Union High School, West Milton, OH where he played on the varsity football team with many friends.  He was a 1983 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and was a member of the CHI EPSILON honorary Civil Engineering Society.

Upon graduation, David came home and dedicated his life to building and expanding his father’s Civil Engineering firm, Thomas Winemiller and Associates, as a professional engineer and land surveyor in Vandalia.  While working full time for the growing business, he completed his Masters of Science Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Dayton in 1992.  Active in the community, David served as a councilmember and Mayor in West Milton.  He was well respected as an engineer, surveyor and businessman, taking charge of Thomas Winemiller and Associates in 2005.  Known for his no-nonsense professionalism and excellent work throughout the Miami Valley and Richmond IN, he planned, designed and supervised many notable projects in both Ohio and Indiana.

David loved spending time with his family at their cabin in West Virginia.  He spent many weekends in the hills hunting, riding quads, mowing the meadows with his John Deere tractor and enjoying free mountain life.  As an OSU grad, he followed the Buckeye football team with enthusiasm always, frustration sometimes, quietly--never.  He will be greatly missed by his entire family and especially by his cherished daughter, Madeline.

At David’s request no public service will be held.  Arrangements are in care of Hale Sarver Family Funeral Home. Please honor David with your donation to Hoffman Methodist Church in West Milton or Shriners Hospitals for Children. Condolences may be sent to the family c/o Hale Sarver Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 9, West Milton, Ohio, 45383.
